GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES

Great opportunities smell like roses and have chunks of gold hanging off of them.

WHAT? Where in the world have you been living? That's a lie from the enemy. He wants you to believe this because it keeps you perpetually wishing for more, and yet missing the boat every time. That lie when believed gives birth to sins like coveting, envy and unthankfulness.

What do real opportunities look like? For the most part, they look like challenges, and obstacles.Let's say you ask God for a promotion or more income. That's a reward and that's a good thing to ask God for. Now He won't just drop bills out of the sky. Often times God will allow you access to a problem with more than enough grace to overcome it. You see that way you get the reward. Just like David needed a Goliath to get the king's reward, challenges are opportunities for you to get promoted.

Problems can be doorways to rewards. Questions are doorways to answers. Disappointment can be a doorway to significant relationships. Why? When you have a huge problem it prods you to pursue relationships you either don't have, or have not been willing to develop. Challenges will even reveal the character of your friendships. Proverbs 17:17 tells us "A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity."

It wasn't Joseph's dreams or gift of interpretation that made him famous. It was his willingness to face the problem and be a part of the solution. This will truly help the accuracy of your prayers because you may be presently pushing on both ends of the vehicle, so to speak.
God make this problem go away. Also, God give me a promotion. Well which is it? Do you want to be insulated from any challenge or do you want to succeed? You can't have it both ways. You don't win a race that no one else is running. You don't get a trophy for being the only team in the league. We live in a broken, sinful world but don't focus on the problem. Focus on the door of opportunity God always supplies!

Recently I heard the story of a woman whose innocence was thrown on the garbage pile of human existence. She heard of Jesus and He became her door to healing and a new life. She became an amazing counselor to the hurting, a highly educated woman with great political influence, and the bride to a wonderful man. In Christ her pain was transformed into answers, rewards and peace not just for her, but multiplied for countless others! The abuse was NOT God's will, but she let Jesus turn her curse inside out. She is blessed.

Don't throw every mountain away. Sometimes there's gold inside. Other times a mountain is your staircase to a much better view at the top. Grace is for climbing, winning and overcoming. Change the frame you're looking through and start seeing the golden opportunities you're missing.

Let's pray the answer :

According to 2 Corinthians 2:14, Thanks be unto God, which always causes me to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the fragrance of Him through me every place I go. Yes I am more than a conqueror through Christ! (Romans 8:37)
