REPENT-RECEIVE-REJOICE

Repent simply means to turn, and come God’s way. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in sin, but it prioritizes your choice to be in humility so you’re submitted under God’s hand.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Humility comes first before making prayers and petitions. You can’t turn the key, until you’ve submitted the key to the lock, and yet we have so many misguided turning on a prayer before the key has even been submitted to the lock. The first word Jesus used to deliver Good News is in Matthew 4:17, “Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is near.” That’s Good News. Not condemnation or finger pointing. It was permission granted for Kingdom of God results here on earth. Praise God!

Repent, and then you rejoice.

That’s believing in action, and without faith it’s impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Many don’t understand this, but rejoicing is the meat part of this heavenly sandwich. Then you receive. God is pleased when you receive the outcome. When Jesus healed the ten lepers they mostly did two things correctly. They repented, meaning they turned to Jesus as the Source of their healing, and they received by His instruction. The problem with nine of them though, was they didn’t lay hold of the process of the 3 R’s.

Luke 17:15
Then one of them, upon seeing that he was cured, turned back, thanking and praising God with a loud voice.

Do you know that one leper was considered a stranger and alien? He was the outsider, and yet he seemed to understand the principal of rejoicing, thankfulness, and giving God praise. That guy got the biggest download of the miraculous from Jesus. When he rejoiced, he went from just being healed, to being made completely whole, restored to full health. He worked the 3 R’s!

Prayer meetings are powerful, IF they’re done in faith, respecting God’s order. Prayer is not a substitute for repentance though. There is no event, church service, or sacrificial activity that can take the place of faith in God. If you’re standing at a locked door and hoping today’s the day the lock will turn, activate this Bible key: repent, rejoice, receive. The 3 R’s are proof you believe.

Pray the Word:

Heavenly Father I hear what Jesus says. I repent. I turn to Your way of thinking. I don’t just think differently, but I think Your way. Lord I receive Your good plans for my life, recognizing that I’ve got to submit to You to receive from You. Father I don’t stop there, but I also rejoice in You, and again, I rejoice! Thank You for all the benefits and blessings of being Your child in Jesus Name. I have so many blessings so I need to count them one by one, and give you highest praise for all You’ve done in my life. Glory to You God! Amen.
